Over the past 40 years, Milwaukee Ballet's performances have time and again expressed emotion and storytelling using a vivid combination of music and dance.
This triple bill is no different. Jerry Opdenaker's award-winning Coeur de Basque fuses Hispanic, Arabic and non-traditional melodies in a lively choreographic tour of Spanish dance halls and Gypsy villages. Milwaukee Ballet's Petr Zahradnícek creates another world premiere with a performance stretching the bounds between classical and contemporary dance. Sought-after choreographer Val Caniparoli returns to Milwaukee Ballet with a new work rooted in classicism yet inspired by all forms of movement.
