Buyer Beware: you don't come first to this owner

I bought an item from the owner at Quilters Corner for $80. My husband shocked at the price, finds it somewhere else for $43 & we decide to return it. When I brought it back, 5 days later, unopened, with my receipt, the owner would not issue me a refund. She put the item right back on the wall where is was 5 days ago, but would not give me my money back. She gave me a store credit, but I didn't need anything from her store other than this machine part. We later called her back, nicely trying to reach a middle ground on the $40 difference in price. She would not budge on the price, she would not agree to a restocking fee. She was not willing to price match or even meet us in the middle on price. We then went to the store & asked to see her return policy posted. (from what we understand under VA law it must be visible to the customer) She fumbled around and could not find it herself saying it must have gotten moved, they had been cleaning up. She could not produce it herself. We showed her a print out of the VA law stating that it had to be clearly & predominantly visible. She said she knew the law. Within hours of our leaving as very unhappy customers we noticed she then posted the policy online & surely has it visible in the store now. But just be warned, she is does not put her customers first!
