If I could give this place a half a star, I would...
First of all, the activities for the younger children are extremely limited. There is only one small area for the little ones, and I do mean small, and a play area for the 3-5 that, after about an hour, is extremely boring. The slide is fast, but at the bottom there is a mat that is not attached to the slide, so kids get their feet stuck in the space and trip when they come down. I had to constantly push the mat so that it would get as close as possible to the slide. That is a twisted ankle waiting to happen right there.
The place was almost empty when we were there - since our kids were bored, we asked if they could go to the 6-12 section, which is HUGE, and we were strictly forbidden to go there. They gave us some lame excuse of "if I do it for you, I have to do it for everyone," and "parents tell us their kids are potty trained but then have accidents in there." ??!?!???! These among other excuses why our kids couldn't go have fun in an EMPTY playground.
The seating for parents is just as inappropriate - very few tables and chairs for the parents who are stuck staying in the back in the little kids area. When we ordered food, it was very high priced for what we got - stuff you could've made at home yourself, or just taken out of a box. Not to mention how bad I would feel for parents who brought kids of two different age groups - how would they keep their eyes on both kids? And of course, trying to explain to their little one why the older sibling gets to go on the cool playground and not the little one...
So... in an effort to let the kids have more fun and blow off some steam, we decided to get in there with them and chase them around. The place is MOST DEFINITELY sturdy enough. Well, guess what... the manager sent in one of his employees (even though we'd been speaking to him most of the time) to come and tell us we couldn't go in there because the children were screaming and being too loud.... WHAT!? Wait, wait... let me get this... a playground where kids are not allowed to scream and have fun and be loud???
Stay away. It is ridiculous and an insult to our children. Go to Cool de Sac where they have real entertainment and GREAT VARIETY of activities for the kids, where all kids are allowed to play in 99% of areas (except for the infant section), where parents can have perfect view of the entire facility to keep an eye out on their kids while eating some good food. Expensive? Could be, but if you get the annual hall pass, totally worth it. And they have some nice incentives during the summer.
Stay away from Play au Lait, they have no clue what kids are all about.
