Jonathan Spikes Foundation Presents A Staged Reading of the Play: "I Know What I Am and I Am Not What You Call Me"
A psychological thriller that traces the often painful coming-of-age journey of a young African-American boy.
The autobiographical play written by Miami Native son Jonathan Spikes, addresses the difficult subject of childhood sexual abuse. Spikes says even though statistics show as many as one in four girls and one in six boys will be sexually abused at some point in their childhood, this familiar, yet taboo topic, is still very difficult to discuss in an open forum.
