Dlm 3 Year Anniversary Celebration

Three years ago the Downtown Life Magazine was started out of a second-story apartment in Downtown Merced. Now, the DLM is a trusted partner in promoting and creating entertainment in Downtown Merced. Performing at the show will be friends of the DLM Buster Blue, Not an Airplane and Feeling Gravity's Pull. We will be giving away some limited edition "Print Isn't Dead" T-shirts and posters and taking the time to say thank you to all the folks who have made our success possible.
Buster Blue
It's… Show more been said that everything musical has been done before, but Buster Blue has found a place inhabited only by their own off-kilter creation. The five members utilize an arsenal of instruments that include horns, banjo, accordion, chains, and a well-placed bucket.
Buster Blue brings more than music to the stage. Consummate performers, they bring theatrics to their live sets that meld seamlessly to the emotional arc of each of their songs. At times a raucous bar band and at other times a bit musical theater. Anyone attending a live show will surely be taken on one hell of a ride!
Not An Airplane
Let's leave the description of these dudes to Rolling Stone's senior music writer David Fricke who had this to say about their latest release. "This album is a spectacular gamble: two 15-minute alternative-country operettas of heartbreak autopsy, written in whiplash sequences of hope, breakdown and fragile resolution and scored with twang and bluegrass-style harmonies. It's as if Jeff Tweedy was writing for Wilco while still in Uncle Tupelo, with opera on his mind and a stopwatch in his hand. Nick Shattell is a direct composer ("There's no God where I've gone/There's no saints where I've been"), and the band brakes and bolts with earthy aplomb. Not an Airplane have made other records, but this one is so bold and accomplished, it feels like a debut."
Feeling Gravity's Pull
Feeling Gravity's Pull is a four-man indie rock/post-punk concern operating in Merced, Ca. Formed in Spring 2010 by three students and a staff member at UC Merced, the band's interests include making loud rock music for fun and profit.
