Gary A. Haugen discusses and signs his new book: The Locust Effect: Why the End of Poverty Requires the End of Violence

Monday, Feb 17 7:30p
Kepler's Books Menlo Park, CA

In the world's poorest communities, common violence has become routine and relentless. This unchecked plague of violence ruins lives, blocks the road out of poverty, and undercuts development.

Haugen is president and CEO of International Justice Mission (IJM), a human rights organization based in D.C. Prior to that, he worked in the civil rights division of the U.S. Department of Justice and was director of the UN's genocide investigation in Rwanda.
