Saturday, Feb 2, 2013 11:00a

Black History Month Program
Alisa Clancy, host of "A Morning Cup of Jazz on KCSM Jazz 91.1 FM will celebrate Count Basie's contributions to jazz. Basie was a leading figure of the swing era in jazz, and alongside Duke Ellington, an outstanding representative of big band style. His orchestra was characterized by a light, swinging rhythm section that he led from the piano, lively ensemble work, and generous soloing.
