Angelia's Italian Grille
Pizza is good. Some say that even when pizza is bad, it's still good. Beer is good, especially when it's priced inexpensively. And finding a place that offers both is a treat worth driving for. Pizza is good. Some say that even when pizza is bad, it's still good. Beer is good, especially when it's priced inexpensively. And finding a place that offers both is a treat worth driving for. Over the river and through McKee's Rocks sits an interesting little pizza place tucked away in a hilltop strip-mall plaza somewhere in the wilds of Kennedy Township. There, Angelia's Italian Grille serves fine pizza and plenty of suds, and won't bust your wallet. Angelia's exudes an off sort of comfort, with dim lighting and comfy booths. Toward the back of the restaurant is a small bar, outfitted with a few stools and what seems like one flat-screen TV per every two people. But the televisions are not bothersome, and the bar and restaurant cohabit nicely. The beer menu at Angelia's isn't as extensive as some of the area's beer-upon-beer joints. But not many restaurants, pizza or otherwise, can boast such a magnificent list. The limited but interesting beer roster includes a bank of six taps that rotate periodically, but what Angelia's does well is make interesting selections: Old Thumper, Shiner Bock, Circus Boy, Atwater Vanilla Java Porter may not be totally off-the-wall, but these brews are not what one might expect in a suburban pizza parlor.
