Our historic theatre is operated by dedicated volunteers. Each brings us a lifetime of talent and dedication.
Massillon, Ohio may well be the best-known small town in America. Known for its high school football team it is a very traditional town.
That may be why the town has rallied around its historic movie theatre. 1982 brought the wrecking ball to the last remaining theatre in the city. The Lions Club of Massillon purchased the building and began a huge restoration project. 27 years, more than a million dollars and thousands of volunteer hours later the “Grand Old Dame on Lincoln Way” has returned to her storied past to preserve her future.
Built in 1915 by noted architect, Guy Tilden, for The Triangle Film Co, the first audiences were treated to the most expensive theatre in Ohio. With a price tag of $100,000, it set the record. Built with mahogany, marble and stadium seating - the theatre boasts innovations it would take another 80 years for Hollywood to rediscover.
