What a year Venus has had! After a decade as a club “night” Venus finally became a venue in 2010. By the end of that first year it was named Manchester Evening News’ Club of the Year, the paper noting “Manchester’s best commercial house night moves into its own venue and takes the top clubbing gong in the process.” And they’re not alone. DJmagazine also asked Boy George what his favourite new club had been in 2010 for their Top 100 DJs issue. His answer was “Venus in Manchester”. Yep – quite a year
