This is probably one of the most amazing ski areas in California. There are a ton of lenghty routes to ski/snowboard through!
The lodge has pricey food (~$10 for a giant sandwich, $8 for a baked potato) in a cafeteria style setting. But the food tastes good so it's not so bad. There are also coffee stands and crepe stands so there are many different food choices available.
Lift tickets and rentals can get rather pricey as well, but you might be able to find good deals through third party vendors!
All-in-all, this place is definitely worth it!

I remember back in the day when skiing/snowboarding was fairly affordable. No longer. Mammoth has become a super resort for the elite. Lift tickets are insanely expensive and so are accommodations! Not only that, the food at the ski resort - like McCoy station is extremely pricey! Expect to throw down for a burger! Lines can get long, too. But it's a nice resting spot -- especially if the weather is stormy...watch the snowfall with a warm cup of hot chocolate in hand...
