Baroness
Baroness play an eclectic brand of heavy metal, embracing the ferocity and sharp technique of new-millennium metal but with melodic accents and intelligent guitar work that suggest the influence of indie rock and post-punk bands....

Less Than Jake
Formed in Gainesville, Florida, during the early 1990s, Less than Jake made its first big mark on the musical map with ‘96’s LOSING STREAK, a collection of caffeinated ska-punk tunes. Although the band seemed destined to fade like many other third-wave ska acts, the group rebounded from a slump with ‘03’s highly melodic ANTHEM, allowing LTJ to have a second lease on its musical career....

The Dirty Heads
Emerging onto the Southern California music scene with a sound as original as the band members themselves, the Dirty Heads’ blend of hip-hop and classic reggae rips through the sonic surf with bold beats, fun rhythms and the relaxed vibe of feel-good lyrics....

Frank Turner
A former member of punk rock band Million Dead, Frank Turner turned his attention to folkier, acoustic "musics" after the demise of the aforementioned hardcore outfit. Born in Bahrain in 1981, Turner was educated at Eton College in England....

Matisyahu
When Matisyahu emerged in 2004 with his debut album, Shake Off the Dust...Arise, his musical persona seemed a novelty to some. Here was a Hasidic Jew -- dressed in a black suit with a broad-brimmed black hat worn over a yarmulke, and sporting a full, untrimmed beard -- who nevertheless performed toasting raps about the glories of traditional Judaism over reggae beats in a dancehall style directly from Jamaica....
