Mothers Day Migrant Songbird Field Walk

Sunday, May 12, 2013 8:00a

Leader: Robert Braunfield, Naturalist, will lead a field walk to find migrant songbirds plus many other birds. Meet at Meig’s Point Nature Center in Hammonasset Beach State Park. This park is a stopover site for migrant songbirds to rest and refuel before they complete their journey to their final nesting site destination. We hope to see yellow warblers, common yellowthroats and wood thrushes, plus willets and killdeer, and many different hawks such as red-tailed hawks, harriers and osprey.
