A Slice of Cheddar - A Selection of Antique Pennsylvania Quilts

Tuesday, Aug 20, 2013 10:00a to 4:00p

The “Slice of Cheddar” exhibit affords the opportunity to showcase some of the bold and colorful quilts of the Pennsylvania Dutch from the late nineteenth century. The Pennsylvania Dutch love color, which is reflected in their folk art and quilts. The bold, bright, and sometimes unusual choices of colors are distinctly their own during this time period.

This exhibit is all about color, with a focus on the use of cheddar. You will find the color cheddar used in a bold fashion.
