Ford Amphitheatre

The beautiful, historic John Anson Ford Theatres complex encompasses the 1,245-seat open-air Ford Amphitheatre and the 87-seat indoor [Inside] the Ford. Situated in the Cahuenga Pass, the venue was built in 1920 and designed in the Judaic style resembling Jerusalem.

For sheer beauty and intimacy, it's hard to beat the Ford Amphitheatre for summer entertainment under the stars. The open-air amphitheatre is nestled in the Hollywood Hills, providing a unique natural backdrop to the stage of cypresses and chaparral. It is relatively intimate: no patron is more than 96 feet away from the stage.

The entryway from the Box Office features a gradual climb with winding paths, two dozen species of trees and plants, a waterfall and at the top, Edison Plaza, a gathering place where patrons can dine and mingle before and after the show.

The John Anson Ford Theatres are owned and operated by the County of Los Angeles. Located in a 45-acre County regional park, the facility is run through a three-way partnership between the Los Angeles County Arts Commission, the Department of Parks and Recreation and the Ford Theatre Foundation.
