The Ahmanson Theater is a popular place to see operas, musicals, plays, and performing arts. It's older (although not historic...my guess is that it was built in the 70's), but it still has a classic feel to it. I remember seeing the Phantom of the Opera there when I was a child and it was such an exciting to have that "theater experience" -- and I enjoyed it immensely. It was a great introduction to the arts in Los Angeles.
