Le Petit Soldat: Jean-Luc Godard’s 1963 politically charged film noir in new 35mm print, opens 4/26 @ Nuart

Wednesday, May 8, 2013 12:00p
Landmark’s Nuart Theatre Los Angeles, CA

Le Petit Soldat (The Little Soldier), writer/director Jean-Luc Godard's second feature film, was made in 1960 but immediately banned in France due to its sensitive political content and did not premiere until 1963. This is the film where Godard penned his signature statement: “Cinema is truth 24 frames a second.” Rialto Pictures presents the film in a new 35mm print featuring an all-new translation and subtitles by Lenny Borger. The film’s running time is 88 minutes; it is not rated.
