Working for 60 years at the center of composing’s avant-garde alongside such figures as John Cage, Merce Cunningham and Cornelius Cardew, Christian Wolff pays tribute to fellow great Elliott Carter, followed by Nick Deyoe’s Lullaby 3, played by the Formalist Quartet and cellist Erika Duke-Kirkpatrick. A second don’t-miss evening of groundbreaking music curated by Michael Pisaro includes Changing The System (1974), John Heartfield (2003), and the touching Trio V for James Tenney (2006).
