Leavey Library provides an environment for inquiry, discovery and intellectual stimulation geared to undergraduate learning needs. Leavey maintains a broad-based, general education-level collection in a variety of formats, including 45,000 books, more than 3,000 audiovisual titles and access to electronic and online texts. As a teaching library, Leavey offers reference and instruction services to develop USC students’ ability to find, evaluate, and make effective use of information, in all its forms, for a lifetime of learning.
In its Information Commons and Multimedia Commons, Leavey supports a full range of computing facilities for use by current students, faculty and staff. Librarians and student navigation assistants (SNAs) are available to assist patrons with research using a combination of print, electronic and Internet resources. Large workspaces and collaborative work rooms support students’ group study needs.
To ensure students have access to high quality information, individual and collaborative study spaces, and assistance in using electronic resources and software, Leavey Library is open 24 hours a day, except from midnight to 9 a.m. Sunday, when classes are in session.
