Photographer Mark Ivins has recorded one of Longmont's most visible structures -- the vacant Great Western Sugar factory on the east side of Longmont. Sitting empty since 1977, the forces of decay have been at work, but the photographs also show the grace and dignity of this desolate structure. Ivins' large-format black and white photographs are exhibited in the Museum's new Portal Gallery.
