Join 2014 Firecracker Photographic Grant winner, Diana Markosian, for an evening of photography discussion and debate.
Diana Markosian is a documentary photographer who pursues long-term projects in some of the most remote corners of the world. She has been deported from Azerbaijan, smuggled into Burma by a rebel army and detained by Chechen militias, all in the name of documenting a story. Along the way she has participated in the World Press Joop Swart Masterclass, received Burn Magazine's Emerging Photographer Fund and has been named one of PDN’s 30 Photographers to Watch. Her work is represented by Reportage by Getty Images and can be found in publications like the New York Times, The New Yorker and Time.
Markosian will present an overview of her photographic career to date, including her winning project 'Inventing My Father', a visual diary exploring the man who should have been her father. Markosian's presentation will be followed by a panel discussion and Q&A, and a networking opportunity.
