Action on Hearing Loss, Sense and UKCoD are organising a one day conference to discuss the challenges and solutions for the future of television subtitles. Subtitles were first developed 35 years ago and we have come… Show more a long way since then. However, many challenges remain, particularly with the changing way we watch television.
We will be discussing the key challenges around subtitles including, how can the quality of live subtitling be improved? What initiatives will see more subtitles on video on demand broadcasts? What innovations in subtitling provision, equipment, software and training will we see?
The conference is aimed at engaging the wide range of stakeholders invested in solutions including Government, Ofcom, ATVOD, broadcasters, access service providers, voluntary organisations and deaf people.
