Dr. Bill Craig speaks on Why do Science from Space? at the livermore public library
Dr. Bill Craig an astrophysicist at the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory will give an account of the field of X-ray astronomy. Moving from the first high-energy images of the cosmos to the powerful observatories on-orbit today, Craig will describe both the technology required as well as what we have learned from these objects. Craig is the payload manager for NASA's NuSTAR mission, launched in June, which uses technology developed in part by the Laboratory to take pictures of the sky.
