The Headley-Whitney Museum, a Smithsonian Affiliate, is a decorative arts museum located on the scenic route of Old Frankfort Pike. Founded by George Headley, a noted jewelry designer, the museum consists of a jewelry room, library, shell grotto and main building. The main building houses traveling exhibits, dollhouses, and some of the permanent collection. The museum's permanent collection includes: many examples of Headley's jewelry, gemstones, and bibelot collection, over 1500 books on the decorative and fine arts, Chinese ceramics and textiles, along with Headley's collection of rare natural objects.
