Paymon's Mediterranean Cafe & Lounge

What began as a small market and deli in 1988 is now Paymon's Mediterranean Café & Lounge, a full service café and hookah lounge. And, as of 2004, there are two locations to serve the Valley. The café looks more funky than a traditional restaurant in keeping with the casual nature of Paymon's. Although owner Paymon Raouf is Iranian, the menu is influenced by Greek and Middle Eastern flavors and is very vegetarian-friendly. Lunch offers sandwiches on pillowy pita bread; gyros with spiced beef and lamb, falamus (a falafel with hummus added) and chicken. Some featured appetizers include shrimp, artichoke and spinach dip; flaming saganaki, which is a piece of Greek cheese flambéed in rum; lentil soup topped with feta; stuffed grape leaves and dips such as hummus, baba ganosh and yogurt cucumber. Some of the entrées are chicken tandoori, grilled salmon, chicken parmesan and moussaka (a casserole made with beef, potato and eggplant). The house specialty is comprised of an extensive list of various kabobs. Meatless offerings include falafel, eggplant pita sandwich with peppers and feta, spanakopita (spinach pie) and Greek salad. And, be sure to enjoy their homemade baklava for a sweet treat. Along with being voted “Best of” over 19 times, they were recently voted Happy Hour in 2007 Las Vegas Review-Journal Reader's Poll. Serving lunch and dinner daily and both locations are open late night until 1 am. Drink and hookah specials are from 5-7 pm daily. Children's menu is available as all ages are welcomed.
