Long's Park Art & Craft Festival

Friday, Aug 30, 2013 10:00a to 5:00p
Long's Park Lancaster, PA

This nationally acclaimed fine art and craft show has been held each Labor Day weekend since 1979 in a beautiful city park. Conveniently located off the Rt. 30 bypass, the show is an exhibitor favorite, providing 3 breakfasts and a picnic for artists and their associates as part of booth fees. No surprise, the 1,000+ applicants for its 200 booth spaces in 2012 came from artists in 46 states, DC and 4 foreign countries.

VERY Expensive!

We were in Lancaster today, Sunday and all of the local Amish type attractions were closed. Thought we'd spend a few hours at the Long's Park Arts and Crafts Festival.....4 adults, 2 children.....$10pp; kids under 12 free.

Wow! What a waste of $40! Very beautiful craft items but quite high end. Many items in the thousands of dollars. We were not looking for "made in China" items but thought we'd find some affordable crafts. Not here! Spent 30 minutes strolling among the art, ceramics, wood, iron crafts. Nothing for kids. Nothing really affordable. They were bored and we ended up moving our car to an area near the playground. When approached by a security guard, he laughed at our story. Said he's worked the "festival" for ten years and has never stepped inside......also said he's heard our story before. Save your $10pp admission.....unless you are in the market for $3500 hand carved rockers; $1800 ceramic bowls and yes! a $6000 iron sculpture you'd need a tractor trailer to haul it home.......Really!
