Jefferson County League of Women Voters evening meeting on public assistance

Income disparity between rich and poor is growing faster in Colorado than in most other states, ranking 8th out of 50. Colorado children living in poverty is at 17.5 percent, more than one in six. What is the welfare system, now known as Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF), doing about it? Is assistance still limited to 5 years? The nonpartisan Jefferson County League of Women Voters will examine Jeffco Human Services at its meetings this month. The public is welcome.
