Although I have not been to an actual venue where bands are playing my experience was quite I don't know ... bad.
I went to an all ages event with some younger girls to make sure no creeps would take advantage; as I have been to many clubs before in Toronto, New York, Burlington, Hess, so they asked me to come along for their first club experience. I really did feel bad they had to be subjected to what I saw.
My first impression was chaos, the line was billowing out on the street and no bouncers had the balls to organize a thinner line, or at least bring out some form of crowed control like dividers or something, they just stood there and yelled "get into a single file line!".
When we finally got in the cover was $20.00 (CND) EVEN FOR GIRLS! I knew right then and there that the place would be FILLED with 25+ year old men stalking 16-17 year old girls. The dance floor was a disaster, it was over packed with people, and you could barely move, people were pushing and shoving and grabbing the girls I was with, I think i had to push away about 20+ creepy men from the 3 girls I was with, some guys were nice about it and just asked but most guys would just come right up behind and start their thing. No shame...
The bar was pretty good, the tenders were not what I would expect at a club, I am not saying they werent good they were, but the type of girls they had werent really the type you see at clubs usually... I won't get into it.
The music was the saving grace I guess, but I think the DJ would have been better off starting the party with the faster tehcno and ending the night off with Hip-hop and oldie remixed rock, as usually the older people stay till last call.
Now this was only for the all ages events, so heed my warning if you are planning on going to an all ages at Element. The overall experience was fun I guess, got me out of the house and got to see some friends of mine go to a club for the first time. Just wish they had gone to a more reputable one.
