WHY WE LOVE IT: The warm, glowing dining room is like something out of a Bavarian fairy tale, and the fact that you take the gondola ride to get to it at the top of North Peak — with the surrounding mountain views — there only adds to the experience. The menu is creative, the food rich and luxuriously presented and the service is solicitous without being snooty spot-on.
