Born in 1939 and 1982 respectively, pianist liu shi kun and zheng performer yi dong are two of the most prominent musical soloists of their generations in china. Besides classical and romantic works on piano, the concert collects chinese piano pieces, zheng solos of recent compositions and five different schools of traditional zheng performance with strong regional colours, as well as duets of zheng and piano.
