Grieg’s three violin sonatas were particularly dear to his heart and mirrored his development as a composer. He said the first was ‘naive, rich in ideas’, the second was ‘national’, and the third, which opens this concert, presented ‘a wider horizon’. General booking, from tuesday 27 may.
