Orchids were one of the first collections our founder, Pierre S. du Pont, and his wife, Alice, developed for the Gardens. To celebrate this history we present Orchid Extravaganza in our lush Conservatory where nearly 5,000 orchids drape from walls, flow from baskets and form towering arches in artful displays.
Also not to be missed are our rare blue-poppies we force to flower into an inspiring display of sky blue blooms in March.
