Yamaha's Motorcycle Safety Foundation Basic Riding Course
The MSF Basic Rider Course is for students that are new to motorcycling/scootering, or returning to the sport after several years. They do not have to own a motorcycle and they don't have to know how to ride before the class. They must be able to ride a bicycle and have an average level of coordination and balance. Coaches will start them off with straight-line riding, turning, shifting and stopping. Yamaha's training motorcycle and full-face helmet is provided, but the student must provide full-finger gloves, full length long pants and sleeves, over the ankle durable footwear (not canvas), and a head covering such as a bandana or painters hat.

No experience is necessary; a good sense of balance is required (you must be able to ride a bicycle).

Successful completion of a course earns the graduate a MSF Completion Card and State of Georgia waiver card. The waiver card grants a waiver from the Department of Driver Services’ motorcycle licensing written test and on-cycle riding test. It does not waive the vision test or any fees. The card is only valid for 90 days from the day the course ends. Students under the age of 18 who successfully complete the Basic Course Must be at least 17 years of age Before the 90-day waiver period expires to get their license. They must also meet the requirements of Joshua’s Law (Contact Georgia DDS for details).
Terms and ConditionsAllen Air Systems LLC, dba Allen Sales and GeorgiaMotorcycleRiders.com, 130 Bennington Pass, Tyrone, Ga 30290, herein known as GeorgiaMotorcycleRiders.com, is contracting to provide Yamaha Motorsports Group, 1270 Chastain Road, Kennesaw, Ga 30144, herein know as Yamaha training for its employees, employee families, and guest with training consisting of the MSF Basic Course. The MSF Basic Rider Course is for students that are new to motorcycling/scootering, or returning to the sport after several years. A training motorcycle and full-face helmet will be provided for each student by Yamaha, but the student must provide full-finger gloves, full length long pants and sleeves, over the ankle durable footwear (not canvas), and a head covering such as a bandana or painters hat.These services are being provide by GeorgiaMotorcycleRiders.com for up to 8 students per class on a per class flat rate fee paid. The instruction and training will be typical in duration and schedule of a MSF Basic Riding Courses. Students can expect to have 5 hours of classroom instruction and 10 hours of on-motorcycle instructions. A Rider Handbook will be provided by Yamaha and is the students to keep as a valuable reference after their class. After the classroom and range exercises the student will be given a written exam and a riding skills exam. Attendance/Lateness POLICYEach student registered by Yamaha has a reserved seat at a particular event. for a particular day and time. They are expected to be at the class for those dates and times. It is their responsibility to arrive before class begins. Being late to the start of any portion of the course, may result in them being dropped from the course per MSF requirements and the RiderCoach’s judgment. There is no time in these classes to review missed material. Classes start promptly. Due to variables beyond our control, such as weather, some course times may need to be extended. The student should allow additional time in their course schedule in case a session runs later than scheduled. Class hours may be extended or adjusted during any session. We ask that they do not commit to any other appointments on the days or evenings of their scheduled Classes.
Cancellation POLICYGeorgiaMotorcycleRiders.com reserves the right to cancel any and all classes. In rare cases it may be necessary for us to cancel a class. In these cases, we will make a reasonable attempt to find alternative meeting times, dates and/or locations for affected students but cannot guarantee we will be able to accommodate everyone. If GeorgiaMotorcycleRiders.com cancels or reschedules a course, Yamaha may choose to reschedule or receive a refund as long as a class has not begun. If GeorgiaMotorcycleRiders.com has to reschedule after a class begins, the class can only be rescheduled. GeorgiaMotorcycleRiders.com will not pay for or reimburse students for any incidental or consequential expenses or damages related to the cancellation or rescheduling of their Class.
Rescheduling POLICYYamaha may reschedule or cancel a class before the class starts. GeorgiaMotorcycleRiders.com will refund fees paid by Yamaha minus any unrecoverable expenses GeorgiaMotorcycleRiders.com has Incurred.
Counseling Out Of Class POLICYMotorcycling is not for everyone. The course is conducted at a pace that results in successful completion for most novice riders. The Coaches will help the student learn to the best of their ability. However, if they have significant difficulty or become a risk to themselves or others, as determined by them or their Ridercoach, they will not be permitted to continue to ride. Some students may discover this for themselves during the course. At other times, struggling or uncertain students may be counseled out and unable to continue in the riding sessions. Our trained coaches are required to maintain the safety of all participants. Any student creating an unsafe condition, as determined by the coaches, will not be allowed to continue in the course. There are No refunds or reschedules available for non-completion of the course.
NO Guarantee Of LICENSEAlthough successful completion of a GMSP-approved course from GeorgiaMotorcycleRiders.com currently serves to waive the DDS riding skill test and knowledge test, GeorgiaMotorcycleRiders.com does not guarantee that completion of our program will ensure the individual will be issued a license in the State of Georgia. This means that if they successfully complete the requirements of our course we will issue you a Georgia DDS Motorcycle Safety Program Waiver card showing they successfully completed the course. When taken to the DDS office the DDS should reissue their driver license with the motorcycle endorsement and without them having to take their written and riding exam assuming they are qualified to have or are qualified to continue to have a license in the state of Georgia. The State of Georgia has the final say in issuing any and all license. There are No refunds for failure of the State of Georgia to issue a Georgia motorcycle license to the student.
STUDENTS Under The Age Of 18If a student is under the age of 18, a parent or legal guardian Must accompany the student to the first class meeting to sign a waiver form. Students under the age of 18 will Not be allowed to attend unless a parent or legal guardian is present at the first classroom session and signs all waivers (No Exceptions). Students under the age of 18 that successfully complete the Basic RiderCourse earn a 90-day License Waiver. However, to get their license, the student must be at least 17 years of age Before the 90-day waiver expires. They must also comply with the requirements of Joshua’s Law. There are No refunds for failure to comply or qualify to this Section.

Motorcycle Loan Agreementyamaha is providing motorcycles for use by the students during the class at no cost to GeorgiaMotorcycleRiders.com. These motorcycles will be properly equipped to meet the State of Georgia Motor Vehicle Code and will meet the MSF requirements for approved training motorcycles. Yamaha will provide all routine maintenance and damage repair at no cost to GeorgiaMotorcycleRiders.com. GeorgiaMotorcycleRiders.com will provide MSF Training Motorcycle Loss/Physical Damage Insurance if approved and agreed to by MSF. If not approved or agreed to by MSF, no such insurance will be provided and Yamaha assumes all responsibility for the cost for any loss or physical damage incurred. The 2013 MSF coverage is as follows;
If approved and agreed to by MSF, the MSF loss plan is based on a co-payment plan between the MSF and the Yamaha. The MSF is responsible for 80% of each claim and Yamaha is responsible for 20% of each claim over $100. Yamaha is liable for all claims $100 or less. MSF includes transportation coverage (aka: “domino coverage”). The net dealer cost or current wholesale value of the training motorcycle, including shipping costs, will be reimbursed in the event of a total loss, not to exceed $4,000. Participation is limited to sponsor or state programs that are also covered under the liability and blanket accident policies. The decision to add loaned training motorcycles to the physical damage policy must be made when the motorcycles are acquired. Training motorcycles owned by Yamaha or state program must be certified to be damage-free when coverage under this policy begins. Personal motorcycles are not covered. The information on the Training Motorcycle Loss/Physical Damage Agreement form must be provided in full. All damage claims must be accompanied by two written estimates from currently authorized dealers of the brand of motorcycle involved. Motorcycles should not be repaired until given approval from MSF or the manufacturer. A copy of the police report must be provided in the event of a stolen motorcycle. Incident Reports are compared with all claims received. If a claim does not have an incident report to justify the repair, the claim may not be paid. An Incident Report must be submitted to the MSF within 48 hours of the incident. Failure to do so can result in termination of Yamaha from this coverage. Pictures must be provided if the repair estimate exceeds $750.00. Excluded from coverage are repairs that: (1) are covered by the manufacturer’s warranty, (2) are part of recommended owner maintenance, or (3) result from normal training Usage.
