The Rotary Centre for the Arts presents   Sunday, March 11, 2012 6:30 PM - 9:00 PM     Good Lovelies   Event Details   The Good Lovelies are not your run-of-the-mill "all girl" band. At a time when too many of us are affected by gloom, doom and recovering from recession these three women are the perfect antidote. Armed with a pile of instruments, a repertoire of sassy and sophisticated songs and an effervescent sense of humour, they never fail to charm their audiences. The aptly named Good Lovelies… Show more are Caroline Brooks, Kerri Ough and Sue Passmore, all of them best friends and refugees from solo careers. Described as folk-roots, flirty bluegrass and western swing, the Toronto-based trio rely on unerring three-part vocal harmonies, clever songs and, onstage, convulsively funny repartee. They have toured with Stuart McLean and the Vinyl Caf and appeared on stages and in studios with Broken Social Scene, Kathleen Edwards and Jill Barber. Recent winners of the 2010 Juno for Roots Album of the Year and 2009 New Emerging Artist Award from the Canadian Folk Music Awards - the Good Lovelies are making waves across Canada.
