The contemporary country singer in concert.
The sultry LeAnn Rimes is making her Penn's Peak debut! At the tender age of 11, LeAnn burst onto the scene with her attention grabbing song ?Blue? and she has continued growing and maturing with each new album. She actually won her first talent contest at age 5 and, 2 years later, recorded her first album. This was during the time when her family moved from Jackson, MS to Garland, TX and LeAnn really began to hone her skills as a country artist. She even performed on a local television show in Texas called Johnnie High's Country Music Revue. She soon signed with Curb Records and by the age of 13, she had a national hit. Her latest album, Family, which hits stores on her 25th birthday, August 28th, is the first time LeAnn has written or co-written every song. She has become so confident in her songwriting, she has pitched some of her tunes to other artists like Faith Hill and Jamie O?Neal. LeAnn sees this album as possibly the beginning of a trilogy, ?This is a clarifying record for me, talking about what I?ve gone through, I feel like this may be the beginning of three records for me with the next record being the growth ?kind of sifting through where I?m at and where I?m going; maybe the third record [will be about] becoming a mom.? All in all, the past 20 years have been really monumental for LeAnn. She has amassed 2 Grammy Awards (including the first Best New Artist ever won by a country artist), sold more than 37 million records, won an American Music Award, won 3 Academy of Country Music honors and received 12 Billboard Awards. Her song ?How Do I Live? was the longest running single ever (69 weeks) on the Billboard Hot 100. Not only does she sing, but she has also written children's books, acted in movies and TV and become a musical icon in both the US and Europe.
