Wolf Creek NFH in partnership with the Russell County Public Libraries has implemented a year-round Family Nature Club. This club, which meets after school, offers families time to be actively engaged in hands-on activities while learning about nature. At each monthly meeting an educational program will be provided, concerning some aspect of nature. Nature club activities include leaf printing, dissecting owl pellets and nature scavenger hunts. All are welcome to attend and participate in programs like night hikes, fishing, outdoor survival tips, and interacting with live animals. Nature clubs are a great way for a people to engage their communities in learning together while increasing their knowledge of Kentucky s natural resources. The Family Nature Club is an educational and scientific organization for all ages. Meetings are held on the third Tuesday of every month from 5:00 - 6:30 p.m. CST January through December. Meeting locations will rotate between two locations: Russell County Branch Library and Wolf Creek National Fish Hatchery. Meet at the library during the months of: 1, 2, 3, 4, 11, 12. The Family Nature Club is a free, no-registration, no-obligation program that encourages families to get out and enjoy nature. Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
