The momentum of Beethoven’s 7th Symphony is unstoppable. Even today, it’s the soundtrack behind the climactic scene in The King’s Speech, the 2011 Oscar winner for Best Picture. Celebrated up-and-comer Mei-Ann Chen guest-conducts and Eric Olson, the Jacksonville Symphony’s virtuoso principal oboist, solos in Corigliano’s rhythmic Oboe Concerto.
