The new restaurant is the third in the DFW Metroplex. The 8,565 square-foot restaurant boasts seating for more than 180 guests. Located off Walnut Hill Road, the restaurant is part of the growing community located along Highway 114.
The restaurant blends a traditional Japanese look with contemporary style elements and features "Japanese Paper" (Washi) artwork created by Ms. Eriko Horiki. The exterior features a low, sloping roof and large overhangs. The Japanese simplicity continues inside with several types of natural stone flooring accented by natural wood strips on select walls.
Stark geometric lines highlight special artwork such as an eight-foot by 50-foot-long "Washi Screen" which hangs along the entry corridor. Designed exclusively for Benihana, the Japanese hand-made paper sculpture suspends from ceiling to floor using steel cables. The sculpture, filtering outside light in traditional Japanese style, directs guests to the waiting area.
