Grown-up Tip:According to ancient belief, lanterns release the past and light the way into the New Year. Make a lantern with your child to celebrate Chinese New Year. Decorate a piece of construction paper with festive colors and pictures. Fold the paper in half lengthwise and cut diamond-shaped slits halfway across the folded edge. Tape the long edges together. Hang for all to enjoy. This activity exercise your child’s creativity and fine motor skills, too!
