University of California, Irvine is a research university located in Irvine that boasts 25,000 students, 1,800 faculty members and 8,600 staff.

The University is Orange County's second largest employer and includes the prominent UCI Medical Center in Orange as one of its many contributions to the county.

Three of UCI's researchers have won Nobel Prizes.
