The Iowa Film FESTIVAL
 
The
Iowa Film Festival features the best independent, student and undistributed
films from around the globe. From feature-length films to short films and music
videos, our annual film festival presents creative work from award-winning
professionals as well as emerging independent filmmakers.
During
the third week in May 2012, the Iowa Film Festival is coming to Iowa City and
the University of Iowa with a full slate of films as well as panel discussions
and presentations,… Show more giving our festival guests the opportunity to experience
films made outside the mainstream Hollywood system while interacting one-on-one
with tomorrow’s filmmakers.
Since
its inception the Iowa Film Festival has focused on bringing the independent
cinema of the world to Iowa, and helping foster a creative filmmaking community
dedicated to educating and expanding audiences while assisting filmmakers
through promoting quality independent films and filmmakers. The Iowa Film
Festival features over 40 films, selected from entries submitted from all over
the world.
 
The
IFF is also dedicated to promoting travel and tourism by showcasing the magnificent
state of Iowa and it wonderful attractions, as well as giving back to the
community by offering discounts to Iowa residents and enrolled Iowa college and
high school students.
