Founded in 1958, Academy of St. Martin in the Fields has been firmly established as one of the world's leading chamber orchestras. Formed from a group of leading London musicians, the Academy is become known not only for its award-winning recordings and movie soundtracks ("Amadeus," "The English Patient"), but also its superlative performances and collaborations with some of today's most thrilling musicians, including Julia Fischer, Julian Rachlin and Joshua Bell.
