"Rocks that Glow in the Dark and Other Geological Oddities"

Saturday, Jul 13, 2013 7:30p

Did you know that some rocks glow in the dark, or under ultraviolet light? Join geologist Dr. Andrew Sicree at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, July 13, 2013 at the Blacksmith shop for a fascinating program on unusual visual effects of rocks. Worldwide, there are about 4,000 minerals, and about 600 of them are known to glow under UV light. Often, they glow different colors, depending on the mineral. Don't miss this fascinating look into the world of geology.
