Houston We Have Problem - A CEO Who Left to Fund Their Startup
Houston is willing to have the tough conversations in order to find smarter solutions.
Startup Grind Houston for November is going to be a dynamic ( if not controversial ) conversation.
It’s embarrassing to admit we lose more than our fair share of startup companies to other cities because they are recruited out from under our noses.
The biggest hook right now is funding. If your startup is not in energy or… Show more medical, you most likely will be leaving Houston to receive funding.
What does this do to our startup ecosystem?
How does this limit our success even in energy and medical, because of talent not seeing value to move to Houston?
When will we bring together our genius and discover incremental steps we can put into action to change this trend?
How about doing that with us Wednesday November 12th!
Startup Grind brings you stellar CEO’s each month that stretches us into the leaders we can be for Houston. They share their win’s, their challenges and what it took for them to continue to rise to success with their businesses.
Here is a little bit about our CEO, Kim Evans.
Navigating leadership from inside big companies like BMC & Microsoft to creating multiple startups, raising funding has served a unique challenge as a startup founder. Right now I'm part of an amazing team that is on a mission to transform how consumers manage their chronic conditions. Today consumers struggle to manage chronic conditions to achieve healthy outcomes. At CHC, we are delivering a cloud based mobile platform that makes multiple complex chronic disease treatment plans one easy to follow manageable care plan. If this is an area of interest to you, I’d love to hear from you. Having fund raised multiple startups, I can give you detailed insights on why I had to leave Houston to get funded and now I am back in Houston to raise funds again. I'm also a teacher who realizes the more I teach the more I'm a student. I'm an inside out genius developer for people, teams and companies commercializing innovative ideas that raise the economic energy of their communities. Chairing #TechStreet Houston, an organization that cultivates smart citizens, businesses and communities is one of my other passions. TechStreet Houston is a platform to learn, share and showcase thought-leadership and innovation supporting economic expansion. Prior experience includes, President of Blue Lance, CEO of Secure Vantage Technologies, co-founder of Covasoft and an alumni of big exceptional companies like Microsoft and BMC, Inc. where I developed the ability to lead, follow and engage my genius to achieve great things.
