Demi Lovato and Austin Mahone live at the Houston Rodeo and Livestock Show

-New Mexico born and Texas raised, Demi Lovato gained a large following after several years as a superstar in the popular television movie series, “Camp Rock,” and as the main character in “Sonny With a Chance.” She released songs on soundtracks for both shows.

Since 2008, Lovato has released three studio albums, with the most recent, “Unbroken,” showing more of a soulful side to her artistry. AUSTIN MAHONE

-Sixteen-year-old Austin Mahone has grown in popularity over the past year due to viral YouTube videos of his musical performances. He released his debut single, “11:11,” in February 2012, and his second single, “Say Somethin’,” in August, which appeared on the Billboard pop songs chart.

Mahone, a native Texan, grew up in the suburbs of San Antonio.
