Abraham Lincoln treaded through a political minefield when he wrote the Emancipation Proclamation, saw it passed and signed the 13th amendment that freed slaves.
Dr. Jack Waugh will explore Lincoln's thought process and analyze the document and its perceived strengths and weaknesses, what slaves it freed and what slaves it didn't, what he expected of it, and its impact.
