Turn of the Century Wind Music from the Early 20th and 21st Centuries

The Highlands Ranch Concert Band presents Turn of the Century Wind Music from the Early 20th and 21st Centuries, their second free concert of 2012, at 2 p.m. on Sunday, March 18 at St. Andrew United Methodist Church, 3350 White Bay Dr. Highlands Ranch, CO.

The program includes a four movement mix of drinking beverage songs titled People Who Live in Glass Houses by the famous John Phillip Sousa, The Flying Eagle March by the German Composer H. Blankenburg, The Rhapsodic Celebration by Robert Shelton, The Seal Lullaby by Eric Whitacre, Ghost Dances by Roland Barrett, and the Morning, Noon, and Night in Vienna Overture arranged by Henry Fillmore. The later song was used in a cartoon with Bugs Bunny directing a full orchestra at the Hollywood Bowl with humorous results.

Highlands Ranch Concert Band is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization of volunteer professional, amateur and high school musicians that provides free performances throughout the year, promoting an educational experience for musicians and the community through music, arts, entertainment, and cultural opportunities.
