Schools Spectacular 2009

The School Spectacular has become one of the most eagerly anticipated events on Sydney's entertainment calendar. The spectacular - now in its 26th year - is a dazzling display of colour, energy and music that showcases the talents of more than 3, 000 performers from New South Wales Public Schools.
The Annual Entertainment Showcase has launched the careers of a host of Australia's most popular performers and has introduced tens of thousands of students from New South Wales government schools to the thrill of performing capacity audiences in Sydney's major entertainment venue, the Sydney Entertainment Centre.
The State's most talented singers, dancers and musicians present a brilliantly costumed and choreographed arena style production on an epic scale. Audiences are thrilled by an 80 piece symphony orchestra, a 1200 voice choir, 2000 dancers, a stage band, marching band and exceptional singers. These young entertainers present four outstanding performances to crowds totaling over 30 000. The production has been taken into the homes of millions of Australians through the national broadcaster, the ABC. It is an excellent example of New South Wales Public Education at its best.
