Original Pineywoods Cattle and Sheep

South Mississippi Genealogical & Historical Society. Bill Brown of Cowpen Creek Farm of Poplarville presents a program on one of the oldest breeds of cattle in America. The descendants of cattle brought to the new world by the Spanish in the 1500s, these cattle were used in farming and logging in the early years of the Piney Woods, and are in many of our ancestors' pictures. Please bring photos and articles related to your ancestors’ use of cattle. Everyone is welcome to this free event.
