The totally original and unique to Hartford version of the classic is back! CONNetic Dance brings their Nutcracker Suite & Spicy December 14-16, 2011 to the The Aetna Theatre at The Wadsworth Atheneum. It starts out with an ugly christmas sweater party scene, has break dancing dolls brought by suave Drosselmeyer, an athletic and dizzying "snow ball" snow scene with acrobatic dancing using pearly white exercise balls, and then in Act 2 the audience meets our sexy hip hop Sugar Rum and our signature Florettes-a high kicking waltz of the flowers inspired by the Rockettes. It is all set to a fun compilation of diverse music inspired by Tchaikovsky’s classic score. Also featuring the set by local artist Ethan Boisvert which is a backdrop that is a beautiful contemporary work of art depicting Hartford landmarks. The production has a great sense of humor, creative choreography, and is accessible and enjoyable for all. It is a show as truly diverse as the city it hails from with diverse professional dancers from varied backgrounds performing choreography from all forms of dance.
